Genetic dissection of the mechanisms of cellular adhesion and synthesis of the homogalcturonans in plants
Recently we did show the main role of the Homogalacturonan in the mechanism
of cell adhesion in plants. This project aims to identify new actors involved
in the mechanism of cell adhesion and the biosynthesis of Homogalacturonan in
plants. The approaches used consist in genetic and biochemical approach. A detailed
developmental and biochemical phenotyping (collaboration with INRA Nantes) of
the mutants will be performed. The functional analysis of the new genes identified
will include the study of subcellular location and activity of the protein encoded
by these genes.
